‘Steer!’ shouted Sophie.
She heard Mrs Harvey’s sharp intake of breath and felt the car swerve. It wasn’t enough, as a sickening thud came from Sophie’s side of the car. The were still moving though and Sophie was about to suggest they stop to see if the animal was okay when Mrs Harvey let out a yell.
The car lurched violently, and Sophie watched in horror the headlights pointing into nothing but sleeting rain as the car tumbled over a bank.

A change in Sophie Granger’s holiday plans brings unexpected excitement and danger. Isolated in thick Northland bush, Sophie must find help for the seriously injured Mrs Harvey before it’s too late – for both of them.
